Chillin by the pool. Enjoying the fresh air. Sunsets on the beach. That’s camping in Lacanau for ya!
June, this year, we decided to take a last minute camping trip to Les Grand Pins in the South of France. This camping is part of a chain called Yelloh Village, holidays fit for a king. That’s their slogan. You can rent a cabin, a tent or a pitch so you can bring your own tent/camper. We love tent camping in summer so we brought our own 3-person tent.
Lacanau is a top destination for surfers! So we took a half day surfing lesson. Lots of fun but very difficult too. It was our first time and the ocean was not cooperating. Our teacher told us it would be rough out there but that we could still give it a try. After a few hours, our bodies had enough and we called it a day. For know one lesson was plenty for us, maybe we’ll try it again in the near future!
There were two pools on the camping grounds. One adults-only and the other one was for families. We liked the second too because it was bigger and it had waterslides which we think are not only for children!
The beach was only a few minutes walk on a boardwalk which gave us the opportunity to enjoy a few breathtaking sunsets on the beach. In summer, the sun sets behind the ocean for some magical moments. Bring a blanket, some wine and take out pizza and you have an awesome evening!
